This was my second sleeve procedure. I lost 85lbs the first time and then waited 6 years before I opted for the resleeve that will hopefully help me lose my last 65lbs. My first procedure was done in Mexicali with an alternate doctor.
Dr Almanza and team were great and the facility was adequate. The day of the procedure, and the few days following are hard painful days, and the experience is not cushy and easy, but it's doable. The recovery pain meds that they use in Mexico are not like our meds in the US, where you'll be drugged up and out of it on a morphine drip. The meds curb the pain, but they don't drug you and make you comfortably sleepy. You unfortunately stay very awake and aware of your discomfort during some very long nights. (Not trying to scare anyone, but rather prepare you).
I've had the procedure twice now, so obviously I see the value in it, I'm just stating that it's hard and is a sacrifice.
It's life changing to shed the weight and gain the confidence. Be bold. Be brave, and do it.
