I went to Tijuana Mexico at Baja Hospital (Aka Grand View Hospital) for the gastric sleeve surgery. 6 other people I know had it there and loved it. They had a wonderful experience!
I would not say I loved it. It was clean, super organized, and in a beautiful location. They provided all the beverages you need anytime you want, and checked on me all through the night. One nurse, named Roxanna, turned into such a nurturing mom on me when I threw up. It was extremely comforting. BUT:
I had a horrible experience with my IV. Like they had to stick me three times. The first time bruised, the second time hurt so bad I cried, and I don't think they did it right the third time because now I have a blood clot. My hand was swollen for a week. When I went in for the operation, the anesthesiologist pumped the fluid into my hand so quickly and so much of it that I screamed for him to stop. He didn't. I asked a nurse if it was normal. She silenced me by giving me the gas mask.
Also,
I wish more of the staff spoke English.
Communicating what I needed was sooo difficult. They would often come in to the room and not say anything at all because they couldn't speak English. We all used Google translate as much as we could, and they were really nice people, ESPECIALLY the driver. But... it was frustrating.
Weightloss Agents were absolutely phenomenal. I used their site to constantly ask questions and they were ALWAYS so quick to answer them.
