I have always been fat, and am ok with being that way...but I was finally getting tired of getting fatter. I had been looking into another type of weight loss surgery, but after speaking with one of the representatives, I chose to be sleeved. That was the best decision I could have ever made. I live in Florida, I flew to San Diego and was picked up in a van and driven a few miles across the border. We arrived at the clinic, which was in a small shopping center. Everyone was very nice and professional. I was the last of 6 to be sleeved that Saturday, and my surgery started around 530pm. I remember answering some of the doctors questions and the next thing I knew I woke up being thirsty. On my day of surgery I weighed 352 pounds almost one year to the date I weigh 219. I went from a size 32w to a 14/16. I did the no carb/liquid diet for a month and that really helped with after surgery. I'm not sure how much I weighed before that, because there was no scale to weigh on. I had no complications, no pain issues, no trouble with the long flight home and most of all, no regrets. I think the most amazing thing is to see how much better you feel emotionally, how complimentary people are towards you, how you don't have to shop in the fat girl section anymore or order clothing online because they don't sell large enough sizes in the store. I feel amazing, I have absolutely no regrets, and I would go to Mexico all over again....only next time for a little plastic surgery....maybe :)
