While in the hospital, our care was good. Nursing staff was competent and caring. Once we returned to the hotel, we had one EXCELLENT, caring, loving nurse who was truly there for each and everyone of us. Her name is Alejandra C. And without her, our experience would have been upsetting to say the least. We also had 2 nurses that were rude, uncaring and refused to give me all of the medications I needed because they could not keep an IV going in my arm. I returned home very dehydrated, had a urinary tract infection, and a blood clot in my arm where one of the IV's blew. I had a total of 3 different IV ports in 3 days, and when the last one blew, they told me no more, which also meant no more nausea meds, antibiotics, or pain control meds as we received them through our IV's. I missed at least 1-1/2 bags of IV that everyone else got.
These nurses names were Heidy and Deisy. They were rough in their methods, one poked me 7 times trying to find a good IV spot, all while twisting and cranking on my arms.
My friend who had the surgery with me got a bad cough while we were there and they refused to listen to her lungs and were of no help when we asked if she could have a Dr. Listen to her, they just told her no, it was nothing wrong.
I would like to see the administration do something with these 2 individuals as they have no place in working with post surgical patients.
We love Alejandra C. She is a wonderful caring nurse and is truly the shining light in our care.
I am happy I had this procedure done, just wish I had The same qualified nurse, not the rude ones who set me up for feeling miserable!
