On Nov 1, 2014 it will be a year since I went to see Dr. Almanza. I had a lap band in 2006, but over 7 years, I never lost more than 10 pounds. ( need to lose 60 ) I can remember every day throwing up because I ate too big of bite, or the wrong thing. I had all the saline taken out after the first year. If I felt any kind of stress, I would throw up somehow.

After hearing from many people that the gastric sleeve is the only way to go after the failure of my lap band, i decided I couldn't keep gaining weight from all the trouble i had having the lap band. I knew the gastric sleeve might be a better solution.

This past year, I was so tired of diets, that I finally quit dieting. With the gastric sleeve, I get to eat 5-7 times a day, only smaller portions. It took me about 6 months to finally figure out what to do, and how to know when i ate to much. If i ate too much, I would start sneezing. I do not know if anyone has this reaction, but now I know when to stop. I haven't lost all my weight, but I do look much better . I've lost 40 pounds since last year! That is an accomplishment since I have been a compulsive dieter my whole life.

I do have a few scars to show that I had the surgery, but I am still wearing a 2 piece and no one has noticed my scars.

Dr. Almanza's team was professional and very clean. I was NOT at all scared to do this. It was better than NOT having it done.
