I knew I needed to do something for my myself and family if I wanted to be around for many more years. Obesity runs in my family and I lost my father at a early age due to complications that arise from obesity. I've tried many different diets over the years, including good old exercise, but always seemed to gain the weight back and some. I finally hit a low and was frustrated with myself, normal life activities were beginning to become very difficult...tying my shoes was a chore. I realized I was missing out on life and needed to make a change if I wanted to be around for my spouse and children. I was skeptical as anyone would be....I will admit surgery in TJ had me nervous. I had a good experience, the staff was helpful and informative, telling us what to expect each step of the way. After surgery I walked as much as possible and felt pretty good considering I just had surgery. I personally had little pain but more discomfort than anything. I had my doubts even after 3 or 4 days after the surgery, at that time I would probably have said not to do the surgery in all honesty. However 5 weeks later, I would recommend this procedure and staff to anyone, it was well worth the results plus I feel much better...after about the 2nd week home I felt 100% normal. Eating slow and chewing my food is key for me, if not your body will tell you...trust me! 5 weeks after surgery I'm down 35 lbs which feels great! "Before Glory There's Sacrifice"...this saying is very fitting for this process. Good luck!
