I'm coming up on 2 years I believe it was the best thing I've done for my self in years I lost a total of 98 pounds but during the last winter I gained back 10 pounds since then I haven't gone way or the other just stuck.. Maybe that all the weight I'm going to lose...I never had any problems with the surgery. There's some things that I feel everyone should be aware of before deciding to go to Mexico for this surgery.
1. Don't expect things to be on time.
2. The facility will take you back its not in a hospital if thats what you expect it's more like a strip mall.. This isn't to say that the inside or equipment is any less than hospital standards but if your not prepared it will surprise you at least it did me.
3. The day I went there was 16 other people there so can have a long wait. I would suggest checking how many people are due that day. Since there was so many of us some of had to be moved to a hotel which was very nice but no one to be there if something went wrong. That was a little scary, but everything was just fine..
4.last but not least hair lose was a very big issue with me so get lots of protein and take lots of vitamins..
All in all I would tell anyone go ahead it worked out great for me. The Doctors where great, helpful and supportive. Debbie
Response: Thank you for your testimonial and we are glad you have lost so much weight! Just to address your comment about the strip mall, our surgeon is no longer operating at that facility, and has moved along with the rest of our medical team to a hospital. Patient feedback about this change has been overwhelmingly positive. Especially from patients who have come back to us for subsequent work (plastic surgery after WLS) and who got to see both facilities.
