I went to Mexico with my wife and was a bit nervous as too what I Would be getting into. To my amazement, things worked like clockwork. I was picked up from the airport on time. I was quickly put at ease when I met the other people who got into the van with me. People where from all over and just as nervous. We all bonded quick and stuck together. The process was communicated and carried out without any problems. A person can tell that WLA has been doing surgeries for a very long time and has tweaked their system to a science. The procedure was painful. Many people people will say painless but to me it was very hard the first night after surgery. It does get better so be patient ....I expected way less than what I got. My pain was dealing with some gas pains in my chest and back. The only thing I really want others to know is to bring bouillon cubes, pill crusher, gastric strips are a must, your own anti bacterial soup and a wash cloth. Also bring a pillow, the pillows in the hotel are awful. The entire staff at hospital and hotel were amazing. Also you have lots of support and motivation from all the other patients that are there for the same reason. I definitely recommend you bring a guest to help you. You will need help after surgery. I'm three weeks post op and I'm down 22lbs. It's worth the risk and the pain to see a bright future. This experience was one of a kind and I felt safe the entire time.
