Hi y'all ,
My name is Dee and I had surgery with Dr Almanza on 2/11/12. I was very scared. I needed the surgery for a very different reason. I had endogastritis which means there where parts of my stomach that the lining was enflamed or ate away. This was from taking too much medicine like ibuprofen for my pain and headaches and from drinking way too much Dr Pepper. I was drinking up to two 2 liters a day! My weight at surgery was 298 pounds! I lost a little on the liquid diet of coarse.

I now weigh 165 and I'm holding pretty steady at that. Don't be afraid to travel to Tijuana to Jerusalem Hospital which is like a clinic. It is in a strip mall type setting which, yes is very different than in the United States.
I was picked up with everyone at San Diego airport and taken back there. I stayed in a nice recovery house in a gated community. They had wifi and a phone. It wasn't bad. I would recommend it and I'd do it again if needed.
I will be around longer for my kids, I have less of a chance of having diabetes or even high blood pressure because of my choice to invest in me.
Dr Almanza even removed 3 hernias I had at no extra charge. Anyone considering this surgery should keep in mind that after any massive weight loss, whether it's by surgery or by exercise that revisions will need to be made to remove skin. I definitely would do it all over again. Thank you for helping me on my journey.
