I always said the first time the scales went above 200 I would definitely work really hard to loose that weight. A few years ago those scales went above 200 and kept climbing. All my other numbers kept climbing too - my blood pressure, my cholesterol, my sugars. I was quickly getting out of control. I had friends that had gotten this surgery, but I always thought, oh my gosh, that is so drastic, I'd never do that! Then I sat and really talked to a couple of them and discovered that I really could do that! I was actually at the lowest BMI to be considered for this surgery. I am 5'7" and at the time of surgery, I weighed 210 pounds. I actually had another patient tell me I had no right to be there! With the support of my husband, I went ahead and had my sleeve performed on March 31, 2017. It has really been a miracle for me. I've lost 52 pounds (and still loosing), I lost 8" off my chest, 6" off my waist and 7.5" off my butt. I've gone from a XL top to a Medium, a size 16 pant to an 11 and I just bought my first bikini since I was 16! All my numbers are good - no more high cholesterol, blood pressure is normal, sugars are good. I have energy, I'm working out again. I am so happy with this new me! It's definitely a life changing event, but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Even for someone that didn't have "that much" too loose, it's been awesome! Thank you Dr. Almanza and staff!
