I had the sleeve performed by Dr. Almanza about ten years ago in a strip mall. I got down to 130 and slowly started gaining weight in the last cupel of years to 180. I have pain in my hips and have started taking high blood pressure.
So I started to google bypass surgery and Dr. Almanza popped up. I thought it was fate. He now does his surgeries out of a Hospital. So I decided to get the bypass and I scheduled my date.
I arrived in San Diego Wednesday 5.5.21 at 1:00pm. The driver was right there to take me to Tijuana. When I arrived at the Hospital I was given my room and just rested because my surgery is tomorrow.
My surgery was at 12pm on Thursday 5.6.21 and done around 1:30The surgery went well (this is my birthday). I was out for it all. After the surgery when I woke up I was really groggy. I rested in my room. The nurses checked on me regularly. They took my vitals and gave me medicine. I was up and walking around 6pm.
The next day I was feeling better. This is the day that my leak test was performed. I passed that the test with flying colors.
There is a massage therapist on site, so on Friday I had a facial.
On Saturday one of the nurses helped me to get a Uber so I could get some gifts for my kids. The driver was really nice. He drove me to an outside market and waited for me. At one point he couldn't see me so he came looking for me to make sure I was ok. I also had a back massage on this day.
Sunday is when I left to go back to San Diego and catch my flight home.
Every one was friendly and professional. The Hospital was really clean and comfortable. Dr. Almanza was really friendly and professional. They all did a really good job.
A week after the surgery I am feeling good. Just a little back pain. I am looking forward to my new life. This time I am going to work on my eating habits and exercise.
