All my life I have struggled with my weight. I would start a diet/exercise routine and lose 30 to 40 pounds, just to gain it back and even more.

I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1998 and Psoriatic Arthritis in 2008. There were many occasions that my physicians would say that I needed to lose the excess weight, better said than done.

With limited mobility, I was depressed and had basically given up. I had gone to my Rhuemitologist to have excess fluid drained from my knee when my husband suggested I look into going out of the country for surgery, my insurance would not cover the weight loss surgery and I didn't have $20,000.

Within one month I had my surgery date scheduled. My sister and I flew into San Diego where a shuttle picked 5 patients up. We were taken to the hospital to have blood work taken. After that we were taken to the hotel, it was very nice, 4 star by our standards and a great location.

Surgery went well, no complications. It was so nice that there were nurses at the hotel and that a doctor came to check on your progress.

August 6, 2015 my weight was 266 (I started the pre-surgery diet)
August 11, 2015 my weight was 255 (Surgery day)
August 25, 2015 my weight is 223

Average weight loss per week has been 3-5 lbs.

Best of luck with your decision and choice for weight loss.
