My niece had the surgery about 8 months before me and she looked great and was very happy about doing this. That was what made me go ahead with something I had been putting off for a long time. Mind you I am very happy I did this. I am entering into my 4th week.
The stay in the hospital/hotel was just great. They were looking after us constantly, never did have to call them. I had a great roommate that I had not met until we both checked in the same day. She is 62 and I 67, she weighed about 30 lbs less than me, we were great roommates. The other gals that had the surgery at the same time were just wonderful. It is great to be in a room full of fat people who are all going through the same thing. There were 4 young ladies from Texas that we all had to laugh at. Every rule that we were given they said they were not gonna follow or didn't. One girl drank water throughout the night following surgery. She cried and complained all night as she was through up water and blood. One of the four girls did realize that maybe should better follow the rules and changed her attitude. 4.0 grade for the hospital staff at the hospital and at the hotel.
At home I was tired all the time during the first week home with 0 energy. I was in pain but only took pain pills three times. I was never constipated, in fact I did not have a real poop until the end of week 3. My wounds are not healing as fast as I had thought they would. I am still using wound soap and spraying after each shower and some times through out the day. Again let me say that I would do this again even knowing what I now know.
Eating, I am almost always hungry. Can not wait to have a burrito, even if it is only 2 bites. Drink, drink and drink some more. I drink all the time. Sippy cups really do the trick, I have advanced to a glass with a lid and straw during the day but still us the sippy cup at night. It won't spill. Why the sippy cup or glass with a straw and why sip all the time. Because if you gulp or swallow to much at a time it hurts.
I have only lost 5 pounds since week 2 according to the scale but I feel much better, my cloths are not tight and I can see that I am loosing weight.
Though this is long I will end with 2 words. DO IT!
