I had fought my weight since I gave birth to my first child at 18. I am what you would call a yo-yo dieter. There have been times I got down to 123 lbs and times I had reached 200 lbs. Never staying at a comfortable weight. In my 20's I started eating only green beans and drinking diet drinks. My lack of nutrition put me into the hospital and I had to take shots for vitamins deficiencies. I didn't stay down long though, within a few years I was knocking on the 200 lb. door again.

Not only did my weight cause added stress on my body and my health but I hated a simple thing like standing in a grocery line. I just knew if I bought a bag of cookies it would be seen negatively by those around me that could see how fat I was.

This surgery gave me a long-term fix that could help me monitor my weight for the rest of my life and gain some much needed self esteem and pride in myself.

Dr. Almanza went above and beyond to help make my surgery successful. He ended up doing more surgery than anticipated due to a previous hiatal hernia surgery I had 15 years prior. I stayed and extra night at the hospital and it took far longer in surgery yet I was not charged anything extra and Dr. Almanza took great care that I recovered okay and was able to leave without concern for my safety.

I would recommend this procedure to anyone with a constant weight problem and Dr. Almanza is amazing.
