I had a very good experience. I did my research and asked questions. There was a big scandal about the hospital and the doctor, but with professionalism they answered all my questions and sent me proof of CDC info. I felt reassured. It was quick. First night was horrible for me because of the anesthesia. But walking is a must. I didn't and the gas caused me more pain then anything. The nurses helped, and I speak Spanish so I felt like I had an advantage. Saw the doctor the day of surgery and day after. My veins are hard to find for the iv so the nurse struggled a bit but so do nurses here in the US. Never met with the nutritionist that they said we were going to meet. And- everything is in the post op which I spaced completely until I got home. They gave you the meds you are required to take, instructions are provided in that also. Overall experience was good. I regretted it the day of and the day I flew home. Pre weight to diet I was 222. I am now 2 weeks post op And I'm 199. My goal is 145. I have nothing to complain about. The facility was clean and it was COLD. I asked why and the nurse said because bacteria can't live. So, I was not complaining. Take slippers, and slide on shoes. It's kinda hard to bend over and tie your shoes. But, can't wait to enjoy the rest of my life!
