I am a Registered Nurse and I could not get under 210 pounds no matter how much I dieted and worked out. I researched Dr. Almanza and the Jerusalem Hospital. I felt confident and comfortable in my decision. All of the steps were explained to me, All of the Doctors and staff made me feel comfortable, they even noticed my silent looks of anxiety and touched my hand or said, it will be okay, I promise we will take good care of you.OMG who says stuff like that in the US....? I had the procedure and that night I was vomiting from the anesthesia, the nurse and staff kept checking on me, giving antiemetics as ordered, helping me change my gown, putting my blanket back on me, peaking in the door to see if I was okay, checking my IV line. This was the entire first night. They cared for me when I was at my worst. Hotel Ticuan....Our little Tijuana Marriott...great customer service. Arturo and Edgar were our nurses. They were amazing, they hardly rested...they were checking on all of us even if we did not call for help. The told us what to expect made sure we had what was needed to be hydrated and nourished. The broth from the kitchen was delicious and the broth from the tortilla soup was AMAZING...( couldn't take much but flavor was great). The lady nurses have strong hands and are very good at their craft.
My favorite part of the trip is when Dr. Andrade ( el presidente de la clinica) spent 30 minutes talking with us about transitioning into the new lifestyle, the dos and the don'ts, what to expect and he made us feel like we were old friends just chatting in the livingroom. He also said something I will never forget...sometimes God changes you to prepare you for what is next in your life ( in so many words). It touched me because, this journey was personal and yet everyone had something negative to say. My experience in Tijuana served to show me how blessed I am to have been cared for by such wonderful people, and also how blessed I am to have the courage to make my dreams a reality. There are 2 kinds of people, one's that wish and whine and won't ---and the kind are the one's that will, walk and work to sieze thier dreams and act, making impossible ----I'm Possible..Decide which one you choose to be!
...Love you guys and thank you for my care experience.
