I am going to give you the "real truth" of my experience. First off, the results are real! To date, I have lost 71 pounds since my surgery on November 24th. That's 5 1/2 months ago. You will lose your hair if you don't drink high protein drinks. You must have at least 60 grams a day of protein to keep your hair from falling out. So, if you don't like protein drinks, don't do this surgery. It is very hard to get in enough protein just from foods. Your stomach will not hold enough to amount to anything. Bye Bye calorie counting!
You WILL miss eating. Don't get me wrong, you can eat a couple of bites. You have to remember that your stomach had surgery, your brain did not. It's been 5 months for me and it is still very hard to remember that. Your brain says, I want all of it and your stomach says.....oh no you can't!
These are some things I wish I would have known before the surgery. If you like bread like I did...notice I said did.....then this is not for you. Bread is a huge filler and you can't eat it anymore. The foods you eat need to be protein foods and veggies.
People ask me if I would do it again. I have to say that I am torn on that. I love my results! But at the same time, I loved my hair too. I can't seem to get in all the protein I need to make it stop falling out. That's something I have to work on. I do feel alot better and my hips and knees don't hurt anymore.
I hope this information helps! Good luck in your decision.
